The Blount County Highway Department is a professional and united team dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Blount County. We make every effort to maximize the efficient, effective use of our resources in the support, maintenance and upkeep of our county infrastructure. Blount County and the City of Maryville have partnered with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration to embark on a planning process to result in the improvement of approximately 2.3 miles of Morganton Road from it’s intersection with Foothills Mall Drive to the intersection of William Blount Drive. No work has begun in the planning process at present. There will also be future opportunity for public input as the planning process makes progress. A public meeting will be held on September 13, 2018 at Mary Blount Elementary School located at 131 South Old Glory Road, Maryville, TN. 37801. The meeting will begin promptly at 5:30 pm local time and end at 7:00 pm. The purpose of this meeting will be to introduce the project and invite any/all input from people interested in providing knowledge beneficial to the design process. Input will be recorded and used as reference as work begins on this important public improvement.
