The Blount County Election Commission is charged with regulating the conduct of all elections and protecting the freedom and purity of the ballot. The State Election Commission appoints the five members of the Election Commission for a two year period.

The Commission maintains an office in the Blount County Courthouse for aiding the public in matters pertaining to voting. It is staffed by the County Administrator of Elections and two deputies. The office is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extra hours are added prior to elections.

To qualify as a voter in the State of Tennessee, one must be 18 years of age by the next election, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of Tennessee.

Residents may register to vote at the office of the Blount County Elections Commission or by using a by-mail registration form.
