General Information
Planning Department
The Blount County Planning Department is a division of County government under the County Executive. The Department provides staff support to the Planning Commission, and general planning services to the County government and the public. The Department reviews subdivision plats, answers development questions posed by the public, provides data services to the public and other County departments, and supports long range planning efforts.
The Director of Planning is John Lamb, staff are Douglas Hancock - Planner, and the Administrative Assistant is Gaye Hasty. Office hours are 8:00 A. M. to 4:30 P. M., Monday through Friday, with other hours to serve the public by appointment. Office is at room 308 in the old part of the Courthouse.
