The Office of Media Relations and Public Information works as a liaison between the Sheriff's Office and the media to keep the public informed. During breaking or high profile criminal investigations, the public information officer coordinates media interviews and press conferences.
In addition, the office produces publications of the Sheriff's Office, including the annual report and quarterly employee newsletters. The Public Information Officer (PIO) writes news releases, public service announcements, and other materials relating to the Sheriff's Office.
The PIO assists all divisions with promotion of Sheriff's Office services and photographs special events.
