Conservation planning is something that the Blount County Soil Conservation District assists farmers with on a regular basis. The aim is to help landowners bring about sound use and management of soil, water, air, plant, and animal resources. A Conservation Plan, developed by the landowner and the BCSCD staff and supervisors is custom designed to provide the best use for every acre assuring sustained productivity.
The plan includes maps, soil description, crop rotations, practices for pasture, hay, wildlife, and forest lands, and many other soil and water conservation recommendations.
